Learn To Quilt Class - Basic Blocks through Binding
Join us to make a beautiful modern quilt from start to finish, while learning traditional pieced squares.
Class length: 12 Hours (Meets 4 times, 3 hours per session as follows):
Classes 1-2: Learn 2 blocks each session, with incremental difficulty.
Class 3 & 4: Adding sashing, connecting blocks, basting the quilt, and binding.
If space allows, we can offer enrollment for the classes separately, please call the shop to inquire.
Class project: Students will choose fabrics to make a 6 square lap/wall quilt from start to finish, each week with increased difficulty.
Skills learned:
- Piecing and color work
- Quilting techniques
- Binding
Skill Level: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate. You MUST already be comfortable threading and operating a sewing machine as well as sewing straight lines. You can take this class if you have taken Sewing 101 or have similar experience.
Please note that while we try to make it possible for you to sew a whole quilt in four sessions, some homework may help you to stay on track. Having access to a sewing machine at home will help speed your progress, but is not required, or you are welcome to book studio time in our space.
