Knitting Class - Intro to Cables - City Creek Cowl

Join us for a hands-on knitting experience as we dive into the world of cables with the City Creek Cowl! This introductory class is perfect for knitters looking to enhance their skills and learn how to incorporate beautiful, textured cables into their projects.

In this class, you'll learn the fundamental techniques behind cable knitting, from understanding the structure of cables to mastering the use of a cable needle. With the City Creek Cowl, you'll create a stylish, cozy accessory that can be worn year-round, while practicing how to read cable patterns and add stunning texture to your work.

What You'll Learn:

• Introduction to cable knitting techniques
• How to use a cable needle for creating twists and braids
• Reading and following cable patterns
• How to work in the round and finish your cowl with a clean edge

Audience: Advanced Beginner Class is for those comfortable knitting and purling in the round. 

Sessions: Two 2-hour sessions

Materials:

Pattern: City Creek Cowl:  Free on Ravelry

• Worsted Weight Yarn - 250 yards - Should be a light color otherwise it will be hard to see the cables.  Store sample is made with Malabrigo Rios.
• Needles: US10 - 6mm circular needle with a 16″ or 20″ cable
• Hook: 6mm crochet hook for the cast on and bind off
