• Fabric for the bag
o Exterior – 3⁄4 yd lightweight canvas, quilting cotton, Essex linen, or waxed canvas
o Interior – 3⁄4 yd quilting cotton, or Essex linen
o Straps (if making fabric straps as suggested in the pattern)
▪ 1⁄2 yd – non directional fabric works best
• Webbing 1” wide – 4 yds (ONLY NEEDED if you are NOT making fabric straps)

• Pellon SF101 Interfacing – 2 yds
• Pellon 987 Fusible Fleece – 1⁄2 yd if using quilting cotton or lightweight canvas for the outside
o If using waxed canvas, no fusible fleece is needed
• Zipper –8” or longer - Must have Nylon teeth that can be trimmed and sewn over.
o #5 Zipper by the Yard works well
• 1 magnetic snap – 3⁄4” with prongs

• Tailors Chalk (if using dark fabrics)
• Disappearing ink pen for marking on fabric
• If you are bringing your sewing machine with you to use, please remember to bring your zipper foot attachment.
Before Class:
• To ensure we have time to get through all the important techniques in this pattern, please have your fabrics picked out and have them already cut to the pattern specifications.
• Please have your interfacing adhered to the proper pieces
o All exterior pieces should have fusible fleece
o All interior pieces should have SF 101 EXCEPT the interior zipper pocket piece does not get any interfacing at all.
o If you are making straps out of fabric as shown in the pattern, we can fuse the interfacing to those in class
• Please bring any leftover scraps from cutting the pattern with you to class just in case.
