Adults only - School of Sewing Course II

Whether you're a beginner or looking to enhance your sewing knowledge, this course will guide you step-by-step in creating functional and stylish pieces. Over the duration of the course, you will complete three distinct projects that explore different aspects of sewing using the book "School of Sewing".

Please come to the first class with the materials for the pillow and tech case.  There will not be time to shop during class.

Projects:

1. Zip It PIllow - learn to sew a hidden zipper and hand binding
2. Tech Case  - learn to sew a buttonhole
3. Table Trivet - learn to quilt a trivet

Throughout the course, you'll receive expert guidance on sewing machine operation, fabric types, and troubleshooting, all while working on projects that build confidence and creative expression. By the end of the course, you'll have three beautiful, functional items that showcase your new skills.

Prerequisite: Basic knowledge of sewing or prior experience with a sewing machine or Sewing 101.

Zip It Pillow

• 3/4 yard for pillow
• 1/8 yard for binding
• 18'' all-purpose nylon zipper
• 18" pillow form

Tech Case (please complete the worksheet on page 119 and bring the measurements to class)

• 1/3 yard or fat quarter for exterior fabric
• 1/3 yard or fat quarter for lining fabric
• 1/4 yard or fat quarter for flap accent fabric
• 1/4 yard or fat quarter for pocket
• 1/2 yard of fusible fleece
• 1 yard fusible interfacing
• 5/8" - 1" button

Table Trivet

• 1 fat quarter main fabric
• 1 fat quarter backing fabric
• 1/4 yard binding fabric
• 1/2 yard of Insul-Bright heat-resistant batting
